So how do you tell what is a spot or what is a stain on your carpets?

A spot will remain on the surface of the fiber making it sticky ans attracting dirt making it look black. A spot can be remove easily.

A stain is will most times show it colour, so for example felt tips, or drink stains, these types of stain will recolour your carpet and are permanent. they are in the fiber not on it like spots.

You can turn a spot into a stain if your heat dry it. you will set it making it permanent. you might say but it removed? well you might not get the spot out 100% so if you need to dry your carpet for whatever reason then do it with a fan pointed at it.

pretreatment of a carpet stain is a process of applying a spotter to loosen or digest a spot or stain before you start to remove it.

by letting it “dwell” you give the spotter time to work. let it sit for up to 20 minutes and then try and remove the carpet stain or spot will improve your chances of removing it.
